Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain can have many different causes, ranging from muscle and joint conditions to referred pain from other areas. The pelvis plays a key role in supporting movement, posture, and core stability, and it is connected to muscles from the abdomen, hips, and lower limbs. Overuse, injury, or changes during life events such as pregnancy can sometimes contribute to pelvic discomfort.

At ONE HEALTH, our experienced practitioners will take the time to assess your symptoms, explore possible contributing factors, and discuss suitable options for your care.

Common pelvic conditions we see in clinic

  • Osteitis Pubis – inflammation of the pubic bone
  • Sacroiliac joint pain and inflammation
  • Pelvic instability during pregnancy
  • Inguinal hernia (requires medical referral for diagnosis and treatment)

Symptoms that may be associated with pelvic pain

  • Localised tenderness or discomfort in the pubic region
  • Pain when contracting abdominal muscles (such as coughing, turning in bed, or going to the toilet)
  • Groin pain
  • Pain in the buttocks or radiating down the back of the leg

How we may be able to help

Following a thorough assessment, your practitioner may:

  • Use gentle techniques aimed at supporting muscle flexibility in the pelvic region
  • Work to improve joint movement in the lower back, hips, and pelvis
  • Provide strategies to help maintain healthy alignment of the lower back and pelvis
  • Offer advice on exercises to maintain strength and mobility around the pelvis
  • Suggest further medical review with your GP if additional investigations or treatments are required
